Mindy's Wedding

I tell ya, there is a lot to be said for a catered wedding. I am still astounded at how easy everything was. We had almost all of my family there. The only one we were missing was poor Dave who was stuck at home working. This time we were the last to arrive. We drove in Thursday night after Wyatt got off work and stayed up half the night playing marbles with the family. It really is one of my favorite games. It is an adult version of Sorry and if you haven't tried it come on over. Let's play. Friday was jam packed with events. The wedding was at noon, so we took the morning to primp and play. I needed to get my bangs cut, so I took Jo along to the salon so that I wouldn't have to worry about her hair. Then we got back to the house, dressed everyone up and headed to the temple. Then we spent the next hour trying to get all of us to smile at the same time while not blinking during the picture. We haven't gotten those photos back, but I am thinking any of the ones with kids are going to be a little rough. Everyone looked great though. Especially Min. She is such a beautiful girl anyway, but she looked incredible. From there, we ditched the kids with my friend Brandy (Thanks again) and headed to the luncheon. It was really fun to see so many of my cousins. Since the wedding was on a Friday, we didn't think we would have a lot of people coming down. It was great to catch up with everyone. I just wish the visit could have been longer.

I got talked into the trying the HCG diet and for the first two days you get to eat whatever you want. It was really fun, especially since I have been trying to be really careful about my sugars. Amazingly, I think the best thing I ate during those two days was french fries. Go figure!

From the luncheon, everyone headed back to the house to collect the kids and get them all cleaned up and then to the reception. The reception was in an old church with a bell tower. The kids spent most of their time playing up and down the stairs to the tower, so between that attraction and the candy bar we really didn't see them for long. Mindy had a ton of people come the the reception and it was great to catch up with old friends.

Of course, no night is complete without one game of marbles, but I think most of us crashed when we got home. We spent Sunday lazying about the house and hanging out with the family. I wish we had more time to spend with Nells and Spencer and Bush, Megs, and Cam. There are so far away that we just don't get to see them enough. Cam just might be one of the cutest kids alive. It was great having her around. Somehow, Spencer has grown to be three times the Spencer we saw at Christmas. He is such a good baby. As easy as Rhee is, Spencer might just have her beat. Of course, Rhee is now a little monster who likes to redistribute everything in sight. If you put it down around her you loose it. She loves walking around in anyone else's shoes. She looks the best in Mindy's high heels.

All in all we had a great visit and were sorry to have to head home. Somehow these things always end to soon. I am grateful that I have such a great family. It was fun to see everyone and the cousins all had a great time playing together. I hope we all get to get together again soon.
